"Everyday Use" & "Marriage is a Private Affair" Story Connection

Everyone who is born in the world ideally will love their family as a vivid symbol of affection. In a family, the existence of multi-generation is very natural and can be considered as blessings. The older generation will guide the younger generations and will create a harmonious in the family. However, the existence of different generations sometimes may result in a different point of view which may lead to conflicts within the family. Those typical situations are perfectly told in the story plot of “Everyday Use” by Alice Walker and “Marriage is a Private Affair” by Chinua Achebe. Both of those short stories have a similar theme that described the conflict caused by different perspective between parents and children. Furthermore, this essay will compare three different aspects that can be analyzed through the two short stories, which are the different reasons of the conflict, the different family’s tradition, and the different environment surroundings that may influence the character’s way of thinking.

The Government of Republic Indonesia Should End The Fuels Subsidies for Better Economic and Social Welfare

Fuel oil is one of the basic needs of many people in Indonesia. Students, teachers, doctors, salesmen, everyone, need fuel oil for their vehicle(s). Since very long time ago, Indonesian government always try to help their citizens and allocates much money to subsidize the fuels. At 2018, one-liter premium and solar fuel are charged for IDR. 6000 and IDR. 5000 (Rianto). Indonesian government hopes it could help citizens especially for those who are still in low-middle class income. However, during the implementation of fuels subsidies policy, the fuel consumption per day always exceeds the predetermined quota. It really worried government and makes them re-allocate another subsidies’ spending to fund the fuels subsidies. So far, there are so many pros and contras regarding the sustainability of fuels subsidies. Since 2014 at Mr. President Jokowi’s administration, fuel prices have been increasing as fuel subsidies decreased every year. The increase in fuel prices causes massive protests from various elements in society. That is why the decision to continue, cut, or end the fuels subsidies is always a dilemma for the Indonesian government.

The Blue Bowl: Story of a Buried Memory

When a person is left by their significant other, it will hurt and make them feel down. It is nothing different when the pet owners are abandoned by their precious animals, as it will crush them as much as they lost their beloved one. The misery will not go easily especially when they have shared joyfulness to each other. That sadness is entirely shown through “The Blue Bowl,” a poem written by Jane Kenyon. The whole plot of this poem tells the readers about the speaker’s and her family sadness feeling when their beloved cat was dead. Furthermore, the tone, the diction, and the senses that the poem convey can be used to analyze the feeling of the speaker and her family.

Junk Food should be Banned!

Although some people do not like eating junk foods, it might be true that burger, kebab_­, or hotdog are delicious foods for most of+ people. They may buy tons of junk food to conduct a simple and faster-eating habit. However, even though junk foods can make people‘s life looks so simple, it also can cause a dramatic health problem in the future. People should start thinking wisely about junk foods and considering the quality of it. It is very reasonable since junk foods may lead many health problems to people. For one reason, junk foods are possible to increase blood pressure and result in heart attack. Secondly, junk foods able to grow tumors and it may lead people to get cancer. Lastly, junk foods consist of many chemical unit that can support obesity. In a point, based on those three reasons, we do believe that junk foods should be banned since it brings more harm than good to health.

Smartphones Should be Allowed in Schools!

Smartphones are one of the modern communications tools that offer various advantages to all people. Not only for a business man or politicians, but it also gives positive impacts to scientists, doctors, teachers, or even students. Besides use to communicate, smartphones nowadays also can be used to take photos, record videos, and search information. Those abilities make smartphone must be owned by all people, especially for students. In addition, smartphones could give crucial impacts to students if they are allowed to bring smartphone into the school. For one reason, it can be used in emergencies situation when helped is really needed. Secondly, it can be used to communicate especially with parents. Lastly, it can be used to find information related to their study which will improve their academic performance. That is why I strongly believe that smartphones should be allowed in the schools.

This is Why TransJakarta is so Important, my man!

TransJakarta program that is applied by a present governor is bringing clear changes toward Jakarta City. People can see that Jakartan citizen nowadays is quite easy to move from the north to the south of Jakarta, even move from the west to the east of Jakarta. That just a really simple overview of how effectively does TransJakarta program make people do everything easier. In addition, not only impact to social life, TransJakarta also gives a significant impact to economic and people’s habit. For one reason, it can highly decrease the car usage. Secondly, it opens a wide job field for unemployment. Lastly, it extremely increases the annual revenue of Jakartan Government. That is why I believe that next Jakartan Governor should never erase the Transjakarta Program.

Why English is a Requirement?

Living in a modern era forces people to give more attention about global competitions. In fact, who are the people who should be prepared for that global competition? They are simply students. They should be prepared, so they are ready to face and enter a new stage of life. Students as the next generation should have good knowledge in purpose to push Indonesia into a strong stand when face the global competition. One of the most important subjects that can support it is English. English is a very important subject for students to learn because it can increase their awareness about international issues, it may help them to be accepted by international scholarship programs, and it will give them numerous options of job in the future.

Confident at Writing

To feel confident when writing a good composition, students must follow these several ways carefully: pick a favorite topic, write bravely, and edit neatly. To begin with, pick a favorite topic is the basic requirement if students want to successfully write a composition, since they like the topic itself. After choosing their favorite topic, students may start to make an outline and determine the title. If all those ways have followed, students can start writing and make an “out of the box” opening in the first sentence. Students must write smoothly and just forget about grammar for a moment. If students have finished, the next way is editing. In editing, students are better to check the topic, and make sure if the idea is from general to specific. In conclusion, if students follow those several ways perfectly, they will feel very confident and able to make a good composition.

The Effect of Lying

Uncomfortable feeling and stroke disease are the problems that are caused by lying continuously. For a start, lie is an action that tells false information to the others. Lying can make one feels uncomfortable since they afraid if people know if he/she has been lying. It can cause one always lie and never talk honestly. For example, when students show their parents a good mark but actually they are not, students will try to not tell the truth forever to avoid shyness. Besides affecting an uncomfortable feeling, lying also impact one’s healthy such as stroke, heart attack, and unstable blood pressure. For example, Lie Detector or Poly gram uses a blood pressure to check one who dishonest and in a long term it can lead one healthy to get either stroke or heart attack. Overall, considering all of those effects, everybody should not lie because it could give more problems than people ever imagine such as an uncomfortable feeling and stroke disease.

Making Ya Fried Noodle

Fried Noodle is a one of the instants food today because it is very simple and easy to make. First, to make a fried noodle you only need one package of instant fried noodle and vegetables such carrot and garlic. If you already prepare all of those ingredients, now start to heat the pan. After that, fill one glass of water into the pan to boil the noodle. Then, open the package of noodle, put it inside the pan, and wait until it is boiled. While you waiting it is boiled, now start to open the sauce, ketchup, also the oil that already prepared inside the noodle’s package. Pour all that ingredients into the plate and just keep it. The next step is, cut the carrot and the garlic into small pieces, and if you finish you may to pour it into the plate. Next, if you see the noodle is enough to be boiled, take it off, and filter the water around the noodle. Make sure there is no water left, before you put it into the plate for the last step. If you done all of the steps before, now you just need to do the final step, which is mixed it gently, and if it starts to smell good, means that it is ready to served. So, in summary with all of those ingredients and steps that you need to do, it can be considered that fried noodle is a instant food that very simple and easy to make.

Social Media and Its Benefit

Social media is one of the important communication media because it can help people to do their business and communication. First, why social media can help people in business is because some of social media’s application can spread or share the advertisement of the product completely since the seller can put the detail of the product in the caption column. The applications which provide the services are Instagram, Path, YouTube, Snapchat, even Facebook. In addition, besides help people to sell something, social media’s applications also very useful to help people in inform something easier and faster because some applications also capable to create a group that can make user easily inform everything in their own group, and greatly, in one group may consist more than 100 members, this services are served by Facebook, WhatsApp, BBM, and LINE. In conclusion, based on those social media’s applications, it is very sure to said that social media can help people to do their business and their communication in daily life.

The Reason of Her Cries

Problems, hormone, and old memories are the most influential factors that caused women to cry easily. For a start, almost all women are very sensitive toward their conditions around. Usually, they are easier to give up when the problems are coming in a long term. The long-term problems may affect a complicated stress, so women will cry and shed their tears later on. In addition, a long-term problem such as relationship problems can be a major reason of why they cry. For instance, when a woman debates with her couple, she will cry easily and cannot resist her broken feeling. Besides the relationship problems, hormone factors such menstruation can also make women feel sad faster since they feel uncomfortable with their body. For example, when they are menstruating, they will feel very uncomfortable and will assume everything difficult, so it can force them to cry. Not only they are caused by those two factors, there is one factor left that may also make women cry loudly which are their old memories. Women usually cannot forget every special memory and tend to reminisce. However, their old memory, such as a wonderful school friendship can lead them to cry. The example is when they see an old photo and suddenly remember everything occurred in the past, the tears will automatically drips so they are crying again and keep crying. In conclusion, what caused women cry are problems, hormone, and old memories. 

Negative Effect of Smartphone for Elementary Students

Bad studying focus, obesity, and negative attitudes are the most common problems that are caused by playing smartphone games for elementary students. To begin with, elementary students mostly cannot limit their mind and freed from the influence of a new thing around them like smartphone games. Indirectly, they will be addicted by the games and it will caused the decline of studying focus, even they do not want to go to school anymore. Not only causing the decline of studying focus, it may make them become a overweight student and attacked by obesity disease. It can occur since playing games is more interesting than another activity like going for sport. When students playing games and eating snacks continuously, fat will accumulate in their body, and if there are less of movements after, it will lead a severe obesity. Besides both of those impacts, the worst impact of playing smartphone games is students’ negative attitudes. The smartphone games nowadays usually consist of unworthy elements for elementary students’ age range, for instance ribaldry and violence. The elementary students will automatically imitate all of those unworthy elements because they do not know which one is good or not, and it will endanger their future behavior. Overall, the problems of playing smartphone games for elementary students could be avoided if students considered the disreputable effects of it, which are bad studying focus, obesity, and negative attitudes. 

The Goodness of Having "Best" Friend

Have a best friend is a common need in life because best friend can help us to find solution between hard options, telling secrets, and sharing something. First, some people when having a best friends could decide decision smoothly, because the person does not think lonely. Best friend will give the best solution ever and always give spirit when someone got troubles. In addition, having a best friend will help someone to keep their personal secret and can get considerations whether it needs to be kept or just publish it out (Lmaoo). For instance, some people that have secret about love will think that it is not good if the secret should be told directly, in another word it is confusing between say it or not. But with having a best friend, it will be easier because there will any consideration based on other opinions. The last reason of why having a best friends is a common need is because someone can sharing their situation, every bad news, every good news, even sharing some money, and it will makes people happier because they have a place to talk freely. In conclusion, having a best friend is a quite important because it can help someone to help decision making, telling secrets, and sharing anything occurs in life.
